Obituary

On December 10, 2014 the Lord called Epifanio Arreaga Saenz home to his eternal life in Heaven. Epifanio at the age of 99 he went to rest safe in the arms of the Lord, surrounded by loved ones, embraced by angels and lifted by his faith in the Holy Spirit. Born October 20, 1915 to Juan Arriaga and Eloisa Saenz of Monterrey, N.L., Mexico; he wed his life-long love Juanita Arreaga, who on December of 2010 celebrated their 77th anniversary. Forged by the love of the Lord, Epifanio often provided the steadfast courage and support necessary to overcome challenges faced. He reminded us that everyday was a learning opportunity and dreams are a part of life. Wife, parents, brothers and sisters, son Johnny, and sons-in-laws Roland Neaves and Albert Castaneda precede him in death. Epifanio enjoyed a fulfilling life, complete with adventures and endearing love, the tenderness of constant support, the gentleness of his smile and heartfelt love of soccer made his life rich. He leaves a legacy of his memory to cherish with his children Elvia A. Neaves; Angie Castaneda; and Cecilia Rodriguez and her husband Eliodoro. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Roland John Neaves; Thelma Pilapitch; Liz Arreaga; Becky Arreaga; Albert Castaneda Jr.; Jesse Castaneda; Susan Salinas; Monica Rodriguez Yzaguirre; Daniel Rodriguez; Sonia Morales-Rodriguez; Debbie Rodriguez; Javier Rodriguez and twenty-one great-grand children and one great-great grand child. Epifanio, a dedicated husband, father and especially grandfather shared tender moments with all those he loved. Over the next sixty-nine years he rejoiced in the successes, joys and blessings of his children and grandchildren. Soccer was always a favorite pastime as were the daily doses of small chocolates before evening. Lasting moments and memories took the form of walks to the park; a stroll down the block, trips to visit loved ones and a Christmas tradition few will ever forget. Lord, You have granted me life and loving kindness; and your care has preserved my spirit. (JOB 10:12) Funeral Arrangements will be held at Angelus Funeral Home 1119 N.
