Elvira (Vera) A. Sanchez died peacefully at home on June 27, at the age of 89. She was preceded by her loving husband, George R. Sanchez, her parents, Ambrosio N. Gomez & Elvira L. Gomez; her brother, Charles M. Gomez. She is survived by several nephews and nieces. She will be rememebered and missed by those whose life she touched as a St. Mary Magdalen parishioner, Vincentien and a Secular Franciscan. Thank you Optum Hospice for the care, comfort and concern given to Elvira (Vera) and family as she transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life. All services will be in one day at St. Mary Magdalen, 1710 Clower Street on July 3, 2014. The visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 A.M., with the Funeral Mass to be offered at 10:00 A.M. A procession will follow to San Fernando Cemetery # 2. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.
