Elizabeth G. Alonzo became her family's guardian angel on September 6, surrounded by her loving family. "Liz," a lifelong San Antonio resident, was born to Edward and Florence Gonzales in 1955. A graduate of Burbank HS and San Antonio College, she went on to pursue careers with San Antonio Express News, BK Graphics, and AT&T Corp. Liz had a passion for modeling, clothes, outdoor activities, animals, music and shopping for clothes. Despite her many challenges that life presented, she never wavered from who she was: kind, selfless, and affectionate. She welcomed anyone with an open heart. But above all, she devoted her unconditional love to her two children, Eric and Meghan, and her puppy, Kisses. She is survived by her children: Eric and Meghan; loving ex-husband and lifelong supporter, Steven Alonzo; brothers: Edward Gonzales, Jr., Robert (Linda) Gonzales; nephew, Edward (Carissa) Gonzales III; niece, Michelle Castillo. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday at 7:00 P.M. in The Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass will be offered Friday at San Fernando Cathedral.
