Obituary

Eleanor Margaret Lipinski Pruske, of San Antonio, Texas, entered eternal rest with our Lord peacefully on December 24, 2024, at the age of 91.

Eleanor was born on April 22, 1933, in Cuero, Texas and was married to her husband Fabian S. Pruske, Sr. for 46 years until his passing in 1996. She raised her family in San Antonio and made certain that all four of her children were educated at St. Pius X Catholic School. More than anything, she loved caring for her family and her favorite pet dogs, as well as shopping and cooking. The family always looked forward to her delicious home cooked meals, especially on holidays. Eleanor loved entertaining and planning parties for family and friends at the family lake houses and ranch, where you also might find her taking a trophy buck or reeling in a big catfish from time to time.  Eleanor was particularly fond of children. She spent quality time with her grandchildren, as well as many years taking care of and bringing joy to babies and young children at KinderCare daycare and Eisenhower Road Baptist Church. She managed food services and staff for NEISD at Castle Hills Elementary School where children adored her for 18 years.

Eleanor was extremely talented in creating beautiful flower arrangements, holiday wreaths and Christmas trees for Oatman's florist as well as for family and friends to enjoy. She treasured moments walking on the beach with her daughters, searching for seashells, and especially sand dollars. She rarely missed a game of her favorite basketball team, the San Antonio Spurs. Eleanor spent the last decade of her life in a Floresville nursing facility where she was cared for by a loving staff who treated her like a princess. She will be missed by her best friend and 98-year-old roommate Margaret Teltschik. Eleanor was a popular resident who made many friends, won countless bingo games, and achieved several coveted awards at the annual Floresville Long Term Care Senior Olympics.

She was loved by all and will be truly missed by her friends and family.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter Catherine Ann Pruske Collier, Fabian S. Pruske Jr. (Elize) and David G. Pruske (Judy), her granddaughters, Nikki Pruske Brown (Mike), Jennifer Taber Travis (Matt) and Megan Evans Bracamontes (Daniel); her grandsons Patrick Taber (Kristin), Shawn Collier (Cindy) and Shane Evans, and numerous Great and Great-Great Grandchildren and her sister Irene Koudelka (Dennis). Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Fabian S. Pruske Sr.; her eldest daughter Shirley Pruske Taber; her father, Leon Lipinski; her mother, Tillie Lipinski; her sister Vera Lipinski Pruske and her brothers, Edwin Lipinski and Vic Lipinski.
