Efraim Omar Velasco, born on February 3, 1953, in San Antonio, TX, and a lifelong resident of the city, peacefully passed away on June 15, 2023, in San Antonio at the age of 70.

Omar dedicated his entire career to the San Antonio library and retired in 2018 after years of dedicated service. Beyond his professional life, Omar was known for his passionate interests outside of work. He was an avid collector of comic books, and his extensive collection was a testament to his deep appreciation for the art form. Books of all kinds held a special place in his heart, reflecting his insatiable curiosity and love for knowledge.

Omar cherished the memory of his beloved parents, Efraim and Aneela, who preceded him in death. He is survived by cousins Servando Peña, Garizela Peña, both of San Antonio, and Maria Guadalupe Velasco de Cervera and her husband, Joel Cervera, of Querétaro, Mexico.

A funeral service to celebrate Omar's life will be held at 10:00am

St. Matthew's Catholic Church

10703 Wurzbach in San Antonio

Father Eric Ritter will officiate at the Mass.

Omar's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

The memorial will be a family led service, should you wish to send flowers or

other acknowledgements, please directly to the church Saturday morning.
