Obituary

Dorothy Louise Kutac Vizza, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, joined her beloved husband in heaven on Saturday, May 7, 2016. She was 86 years old.

Dorothy was born in 1929 in San Antonio, Texas, the first child of BJ and Mollie Kutac. She was the eldest of six siblings and remained close to her brother and sisters throughout her life. Dorothy graduated from St. Mary's High School and was voted most popular girl of her senior class. She was described in her yearbook as a "saucy chatterbox…bundle of animation…she shall play music wherever she goes…her grin says, let's be friends."

In early 1943, Dorothy met the love of her life, Al Vizza, at a local grocery store where he was working. After noticing this pretty, friendly young lady he turned to a coworker and said "that is the girl I am going to marry." Amazingly five years later they did marry! God graced their marriage with seven children and 65 years of walking side by side as husband and wife. Dorothy and Al were dedicated to one another, to their family and to the Holy Spirit. They raised their children in the Catholic faith at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where they were Founding Members. Together, Al and Dorothy raised their family with the values of hard work, honesty, humor, faithfulness to family and friends and service to others. The Vizza family was sports focused with all seven children participating in numerous activities. Dorothy was always the main cheerleader in the stands, attending hundreds of sporting events for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

After many years of raising her family, Dorothy devoted her time to playing the organ at Good Shepherd Catholic Church where she offered faithful service for over 25 years. Dorothy enjoyed traveling, planting bluebonnets, watching/attending sporting events, and was "occasionally" known to visit a casino or two. Although cancer ultimately took her life, her zest for life never wavered, she was listening to her sporting events and cooking shows to the very end.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Al. Dorothy is survived by her sisters; Beverly Johnston (Stuart), Margaret Feerick (Mike), Virginia Harden (Richard), Elizabeth McAdams (Robert) and brother William Kutac (Mary); daughters Dottie Martin-Donohue (Kevin), Monica Coselli (Ray), Michelle Bobo (Tim); sons Albert "Buz" Vizza Jr., Roy Vizza, David Vizza (Patty), Matt Vizza (Jennifer); grandchildren Donovan Vizza, Shelby Barker, Randy Martin, Allison Franklin, Carmella Vizza, Giovanni Vizza, Luciano Vizza, David Vizza Jr., Rebecca Vizza, Nicole Busby, Danielle Surface, Ray Coselli Jr., Natalie Coselli, Jennifer Denton, Tim Bobo Jr., Rachel Hood; and 16 great-grandchildren and many beloved friends.
