Dorothy Jean O'Neill was born on March 5, 1940 to Horace Ballard and Ruth Hall in Kirkland, Texas.

Dorothy was the beloved matriarch of her family and all felt welcomed in her home. She possessed a keen wit and an affable spirit that kept everyone around her on their toes. She was generous and focused on her family, serving as a refuge and guide for anyone in need.  Dorothy was resolute in her support for those that she loved and she will be dearly missed by those blessed to have known her.

Dorothy had a calling and a career as a Registered Nurse at Southeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, caring for the community just as she cared for her loved ones at home.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Chambers; grandchildren, Christopher Garcia, Samantha Garcia, Kristin Alexander (Morgan), Roman Morgan, and Theresa Morgan; and 5 great-grandchildren, (Sara, Ethan, Bowen, Logan, & Gavin).

She is also survived by her sister, Treva (Bob) Fox; brother, Frank Bowman; and Brendan and Maddie of Dumas, Texas.

Also, by her husband, Milton O'Neill and his daughter Ginger Henderson and her children Taylor Manrique and Mya Manrique.

The family would like to especially thank the nurses and staff at Retama Manor North Nursing Center for their outstanding care and kindness.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, October 25, at 11:00 A.M. at San Jose Burial Park.
