Doris Mary Monett, age 80, passed away December 17, 2018. She was born September 27, 1938 in Malone, NY to Cornelius & Gladys Van Ess. She married her high school sweetheart Charles "Chuck" Monett on November 29, 1958. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother David, husband Chuck, sons Michael & Randy, son-in-law Robert Blair, and daughter-in-law Kathy Monette.

Doris was a bookkeeper for most of her career. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of The Fraternal Order of the Eagles #70, serving as President from 1988-89 and secretary for 22 years. She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Doris loved reading, casino trips, Christmas movies, dressing up for Halloween, and had a huge sweet tooth. She always put family first and loved taking trips back home.

She is survived by her brother Orin Van Ess (Sandra); daughters Pamela Blair and Barbara Covarrubias (David); grandchildren Jeremy Monett (Theresa), Lucy Monette (Pete), Paul Xiques (Kaylin), Cora Monette, Jenna Covarrubias, and Austin Monett; and great granddaughters Jasmine, Madison, & Meagan Monett.

A reception will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019

at 12:00 p.m. at the FOE #70
