Deacon Peter Ruben Olivares, age 72, was called home by the Lord on 18 February 2022.  He was preceded in death by his mother Carmen D. Peña. Deacon Olivares is survived by his wife Margaret; daughter, Lisa L. Olivares; Sons Aaron R. and Christopher P. Olivares (Monica); 2 grandchildren; brothers, George S. Peña and Charles Olivares; numerous brothers-in law, sisters-in law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Deacon Olivares served as a deputy for the Bexar County Sheriff's Office for 25 years.  He was then called to serve our Lord and ordained to the sacred order of deacon in September 2002.  He faithfully served his community at St. Henry's Catholic Church, St. Leonard's Catholic Church, and finally at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

FUNERAL SERVICES

Visitation will begin Thursday, March 3 ^rd at 5:00p.m. at The Angelus Funeral Home, 1119 N. St. Mary's St.; music by Galo Gutierrez. Rosary will begin at 6:30p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00a.m. March 4, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Road.
