David Gonzales, a beloved husband and father, was called home by the Lord Jesus Christ. He was surrounded by his family praying over him, leading him on his journey to heaven on November 12, 2024 at the age of 63.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gabriel Gonzales; brother, Alfred Gonzales; daughter in law, Stella Riojas Gonzales. He is survived by the light of his life of 43 years, Velia Ramoz Gonzales; his mother, Mary D. Gonzales; sons, David J. Gonzales, Jr., Alex R. Gonzales, Eric J. Gonzales (Jennifer); grandchildren, Jacob R. Gonzales, Cristian Gonzales, Kevin Gonzales, April Gonzales and Liam Gonzales; his siblings, John Gonzales (Irma), Virginia Gonzales (David); numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
David was a father figure to many. With a large extended family, David was a brother to all. He was cherished by all of his nieces and nephews, they all loved their "Uncle Dave".
David was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 29, 1961. He met the light of his life, Velia in 1979, bonding over their love of dancing, they married in 1981. David loved the outdoors and shared many weekends and holidays camping with family. He had a passion for barbequing. He loved the time spent together with family and friends. It made him slow down, and enjoy life. He loved barbecues because it was a mixture of everything that's great in life…beer, fire, food, and having family and friends over to enjoy it.
David worked hard so his family could have a better life. David's profession was a licensed plumber for over 40 years. He took much pride in a job well done. He was known as a "jack of all trades" and worked as a remodeler, some electrical and more. David will be missed everyday but his memory will never fade away.
