Obituary

Conrad R. Gomez Jr., 71, passed away on October 19, 2026, just one day shy of his 72nd birthday.

Conrad was known for his friendly nature, charismatic personality, and ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He truly never met a stranger and had a way of making those around him feel welcome. Whether sharing a story, making someone laugh, or simply enjoying a good conversation, Conrad left a lasting impression on those he met.

A lifelong aviation enthusiast, Conrad had a deep appreciation for airplanes that extended throughout both his personal and professional life. He proudly served in the United States Army with the 1st Cavalry Division from 1973 to 1976 before beginning a long and accomplished career in the aerospace industry. Over the years, he worked at Kelly Air Force Base, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin, where he contributed his knowledge and expertise to various military aircraft programs, including the F-35. His passion for aviation was more than a career; it was something he truly loved.

Outside of work, Conrad enjoyed listening to classic rock, building model airplanes, and firing up the grill to make barbecue.

Conrad is survived by his two daughters, Melanie Hudnall and her husband, Dane Hudnall, and Jennifer Arciniega and her husband, Victor Arciniega; his beloved granddaughter, Layla Ann Arciniega; his parents, Conrad Gomez Sr. and Ora Gomez; and his siblings, Norma Gomez, David Gomez, and Trish Bellis.

Conrad will be remembered for his warm spirit, outgoing personality, love of conversation, and the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures. His memory will live on through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the many lives he touched along the way.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.
