Obituary

Cipriano F. Ramirez Jr., born on December 13, 1933, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 6, 2014 at the age of 80. Cipriano had an illustrious career of service in our United States Navy and Navy Reserves where he served as a Boiler Man aboard the USS Warwick and SeaBee Heavy Equipment Operator, 2nd Class (EO2) respectively. He couragously sailed the seas and traveled throughout the United States as he proudly served his country for 29 years. While in our Navy Reserve, he also worked for the City of San Antonio. He was also recognized for 29 years of service as Heavy Equipment Operator. Cipriano worked with great tenacity and joy to support his wife and children. His life revolved around his family whom he served with great love and affection. He also had many hobbies to include, bingo, and fishing. Cipriano worked daily to serve his Lord. As a boy and young man, he studied at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in San Antonio. Cipriano was an altar boy for the Redemptorist Priests serving the Eastside and outlying counties. He was a life-long parishioner of the same parish where he dedicated his service as a member of the Holy Name Society and the church choir. This is where he shared the talent bestowed upon him by his Lord. Cipriano's biggest gift to us all was his music, a true gift from Heaven. He was influenced at an early age by his father and uncles. He learned to play many instruments; but, the requinto was his passion. He especially loved to play Trio music for his dear friends and family. Most of all he loved serenading his beautiful wife. All of us who had the pleasure of listening to his music were moved. His music brought and kept our generations of family together all through the years. His passion and love for his Lord, family, and music ran deep as the seas he sailed. Cipriano was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria M. Ramirez; his parents, Cipriano and Perfecta Ramirez; sisters, Gloria R. Gonzalez and Stella R. Ramos. He is survived by his sons, Cipriano M. Ramirez III (Melissa) and Tim "Timmy" Ramirez; daughter, Alma R. Mora (Ted Camacho Jr.); grandchildren, Adriana Ramirez (Ethan), Leonard R. Mora, Cipriano A. Ramirez IV, Lenzy P. Mora, Dominique C. Ramirez, and Juliette E. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Rudy and Belinda Gonzalez for their kindness shown throughtout the years.
