Celinda Ramos Garcia, age 60 passed away with family by her side on the evening of January 26, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas, after years of struggling with kidney and liver failure. She was born in Alice, Texas to parents, Lucy and Celso Ramos. Celinda had 4 daughters, Marcela, Jessica, Jennifer and Denise. Celinda accepted Jesus Christ many years ago and turned her life around for the good.
She loved our Community Bible Church and being able to volunteer for food packing days and being a part of other events. Celinda's siblings, nieces, nephews have described her as; protective, loving, strong, funny, cool, beautiful outgoing soul, caring, enthusiastic, delightful, lovable and she gave the warmest hugs. She wanted to be a witness to others of how living for Jesus made a difference in her life. Despite her illness and pain, she contributed so much at home with keeping the house meticulously clean; refusing any help because she said that was her form of exercise. She did laundry for both of us and said she wanted to do it. She loved dressing up in bright colors and wearing her favorite denim jacket. She loved sitting outside on the deck or by the patio area surrounded by trees. She would wave at all the neighbors and often chat with them about their day. She made friends everywhere she went, even at our local convenience store. Mostly she befriended and loved her medical team at SNG Dialysis Clinic. Her friendship with the patients was often short lived. Their passing deeply saddened her and brought reality of her own mortality. Already she is missed by all of us and those she met in her life journey.
As an older sister, Cindy did not expect to be outlived by her beloved younger siblings. Celinda looked up to her and encouraged Cindy to continue her travels and adventures. She lived vicariously through her eyes. She cherished the pictures and loved the postcards and stories, especially on her most recent Holy Land trip to Israel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Celso and Lucy Ramos; sisters, Israelda G. Perez, Christine Lara Estrada and her husband Lino; brothers, Crespin Lara III, Ramon Langley Ramos; and niece, Veronica Ramos.
She is survived by her 4 daughters, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, siblings; Cindy Lara, Chris (Barbara) Lara, Celso (Viola) Ramos, Lucy (Gilbert) Gutierrez, Gilbert (Esmeralda) Ramos, Roxanne Ramos (Joey) Valenzuela and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces and great grandchildren. She would want to include her beloved #80 Boxer, Max who was by her constant side. Max was a companion and an emotional support to her, even during her last days.
