Catherine Joyce Oakes, was born May 8, 1940 in Bastrop County, Texas and passed away on February 8, 2024. She was born to Adolph R. Grohman and Matilda Schmitz Grohman and was one of 13 children. All of her siblings, except one sister, preceded her in death.

Catherine graduated from Providence High School in 1959, and received her BA in Accounting from San Diego State University. She worked in the Wholesale Liquor Industry in Southern California area until her retirement and returned to San Antonio in 2011.

Catherine was a joyful and caring person who was loved by everyone she met and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her sister Mary Grohman Goodrich, by numerous nieces and nephews and by a friend in California, Phil Ham.

The Family wishes to acknowledge the loving care which she received for the past eight years from the ladies at Marina's Assisted Living.
