Carolina Faz Jepson passed peacefully into the hands of Our Lord, on July 16, 2023. She was born the only and favorite daughter to Jose Maria Faz and Felicita Rodriguez Faz on August 13, 1920, in San Antonio, Texas. As a young girl, she attended Ursuline Academy School for Girls and frequently traveled to Monterrey, Mexico, with her family for vacations and fiestas. Upon graduation from San Fernando High School, she moved with her parents to live in Monterrey, Mexico, where she lived and worked until she met Jimmy Jepson, a Greyhound bus drivier, on her trip to San Antonio in 1950. They were married in 1951, and she returned to San Antonio to begin her married life as Carolina Jepson in her hometown that she still loved.
In San Antonio, Carolina was a devoted, stay-at-home Mom to her son James David and to her step-daughter Ann for the first half of her marriage. She worked at Our Lady of Sorrows when her son James was there in school. But later, she started to work at Fort Sam Houston Military Army Base, as an honored Secretary for many of the General Officers, until her Retirement.
After her husband died suddenly in 1974, she became an active participant in the lives of her close and extended family and even traveled the world. She had such a fine sense of art, and music, and taught us how to appreciate the finer things in life. Her fierce spirit and exuberant love for life, together with her unfailing Catholic faith, kept her safe and strong in all of her adventures.
Carolina was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and Tia to her Jepson and Faz families. Others she loved and lost were her son James David, her grandson James Robert (JR), and her brothers, Jose, Manuel, George, and Cesar.
While her passing leaves a deep-felt vacancy in our hearts, it is with so much gratitude, that we celebrate this time that she spent with us on earth, and may we be blest to live such a life as gracefully as she did.
Carolina is survived and greatly missed by her grandson David Paul Jepson, his wife Melanie, her great-grandchildren, James Ryder (JR) and Ryleigh Denice, her daughter-in-law Elma Jepson, step-daughter, Ann Jepson Gilbert and the Faz nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be: David Jepson, James (JR) Jepson, Aaron Reyna, John Paul Faz, Ken Ramelli , and Jason Lehman
