Obituary

At sunrise on her 76th birthday, December 8th, 2020, our beautiful and beloved mother and grandmother, Carolina Casanova Campos joined our Loving Lord and Savior in Heaven.  She was born on December 8th, 1944 to Martin and Leonore Casanova in San Antonio, TX.  She left this world peacefully and surrounded by her family.  She fought a long and courageous battle against cancer.  She made everyone around her very proud for her display of a true warrior's heart.

Carolina spent her life caring for all those around her and spreading joy and kindness to all those she touched.  She was a loving and nurturing mother to her three children, Francisco C. Campos, Criselda C. Perez and Gina C. Campos.  She was a thoughtful and loving mother-in-law to Maria Campos, Frank Perez and Danny Hebert.  However, her greatest joy in life was being a patient, sweet, fun and spiritually guiding light to her nine grandchildren.  She was the best "Bamo" to Cheyenne, Dallas, Yesenia, Trinity, Daniel, Drew, Johnathan, Frankie and Jazmine.

In May of 1967, she married and is survived by Francisco S. Campos.  She loved and was totally dedicated and devoted to her husband and to the life that they shared for 53 years.  Before coming home to San Antonio, they lived and traveled in such places as Germany and Greece while living the military life.  She met many people and made many friends, some of which were life-long, during her time overseas.  Once back home, they started their family and shared many happy times with her many brothers and sisters and her extended family.  While she was totally focused on her husband and children, she did find the time to work as a nursing assistant for a significant part of her life.  She was an angel to the elderly patients whom she tenderly cared for at the end of their lives.

Carolina was a devout Christian and lead her family in faith throughout her life.  She was a shining example to all those around her, as she lived her life by the Word of God.  She will be forever and painfully missed.  Yet, we know that our family has each gained their own personal guardian angel in heaven.  We trust in God, that, in time, we will all have only happy and cherished memories of the time that we were so blessed and fortunate to have spent with her.
