Carmen M. Gonzalez, age 91, passed away in San Antonio, Texas, on Monday, June 9th 2014. Carmen could always be found wearing a smile, especially if she was surrounded by her children or grandchildren whom she loved deeply. She was also a proud Sidney Lanier High School graduate from the Class of 1941. Carmen Gonzalez was preceded in death by her husband, Ramiro B. Gonzalez and her son, Ramiro M. Gonzalez Jr. She is loved and will be missed by her children: Amelia Garcia (Arthur), Mary Alice Villegas, Albert Gonzalez (Lucille) and Robert James Gonzalez (Gloria); her 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. in The Angelus Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be offered Thursday at 9:00 A.M. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 617 S. Santa Rosa Ave., San Antonio, TX 78204. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. The Gonzalez family would like to thank VITAS Hospice for caring for Carmen at the end of her life's journey.
