Our Matriarch, Carmen A. Rodriguez, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord December 23, 2016.

During her 95 years of life she was an inspiration to all those whose lives she touched, especially her daughters who were devoted to caring for her as her health declined. She was preceded in death in 2009 by her husband, Ignacio S. Rodriguez, a World War II veteran whom she married in 1949.

Many of her caregivers and health professionals were also drawn to her sweet spirit as they helped her through the challenges and battles she faced during the last few years of her life.

Carmen is survived by her 3 daughters: Maryhelen Rodriguez (pets George-Anna and Paul), Sylvia Draeger (David) and Rosalinda Houston (George M.), her 6 grandchildren: David Eric (Hilda), Karyn, Glenda, Marissa (William), Monica and Michael and her 7 great-grandchildren: Noah, Jahleed, Eric, Christian, Lauren, Oliver, and Madison.

Visitation will begin Monday at 5:00 P.M. in The Angelus Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral procession will depart The Angelus Chapel Tuesday at 11:45 A.M. for a Funeral Mass to be offered at 12:30 P.M. at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, 907 W. Theo, San Antonio, Texas 78225. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
