Carlota "Shirley" Rodriguez, born January 4, 1931, went home on June 15, 2018, surrounded by her family.  She was born in San Antonio, Texas to Valentin and Virginia Aguilar.  After a four month courtship, Shirley married the loved of her life and spent the next 54 years raising and caring for her two daughters, Rosa Linda Rios and Oralia "Oreo" Flores and her grandchildren.

She was a Eucharistic Minister as well as a long standing member of the Guadalupanas of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Filled with compassion and interest in others, she along with her husband and daughters, actively cooked and volunteered at their church functions.

Shirley was a woman of tradition and every year opened her home to family and friends during the holidays.  In loving support of her daughters, for 14 years, Shirley could be found cooking for the clients of Casa de Amistad Adult Day Care.  She was an avid Spurs fan and regardless of a win or loss, she would recite the rosary before calling it a night.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Rodriguez; her parents; and brothers, Santiago and Valentin Aguilar.  Shirley is survived by her daughters, Rosa Linda Rios (the late Louis) and Oreo Flores (Andy); 4 grandchildren, Raven J. (Mark), Jennifer, Louis, and James; 5 great grandchildren, Leah, Savannah, Jocelyn, Lori, and Taylor; brother, Valentin Aguilar, Jr. (Olga) and sister, Virginia Zepeda (Arthur).
