Bro. John Rohe died on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. He was 87 years of age with 68 years of Marianist life.   Bro. John was a chemistry teacher and served at Marianist high schools: Don Bosco, Milwaukee, WI; Provencher, St. Boniface, Canada; Chaminade Prep, St. Louis, MO; Nolan Catholic, Ft. Worth, TX; Central Catholic, San Antonio, TX; and, Serra, Gardena, CA.  During the summers of these years, Bro. John and a group of Marianist educators developed a textbook for teaching chemistry, which was widely used in many schools.  He was a professor at Chaminade University in Honolulu and while there volunteered to do adult education with service personnel in Hawaii.  He came to San Antonio in 1986 to be part of the formation team.  He served as a pastoral associate at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Helotes until he retired to the Marianist Residence in 2007.

His immediate relatives are Joseph Rohe, Rockford, IL, brother; Patricia Maes, Florrisant, MO, cousin; Michael Hagan, Brewer, MO, cousin; Fran Hagan, St. Louis, MO, cousin; Tim Hagan, Deming, WA, cousin; Julie Shine, niece, and other nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing at 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 17, at the Marianist Residence Chapel, followed by the rosary at 7:00 PM. On Monday, June 18, there will be a viewing at 3:00 PM and a Mass of Christian Burial at 4:00 PM in the Marianist Residence Chapel followed by interment in the Marianist Cemetery. A social and dinner will follow.
