Bertha "Momo" Galan
Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother entered eternal life on September 15, 2022. She was born on October 10, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam, Sr., and Maria Saucedo, and son, Edward. She is survived by her husband, Simon; and children, Thomas, Arthur and his wife, Jerri; Mary and her husband Chris Rojas; Patty and her husband Abel Castillo, Jr.; grandchildren, Megan, Johnny, Matthew, and Gail; great-grandchildren Gabby and Erica; brothers Sam, Arthur, and Fred; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
Her faith was important to her. She prayed the rosary and the Divine Mercy chaplet daily. She was very devoted to Our Lady of Lourdes and Our Lady of Fatima. She attended mass regularly in person until her health had weakened, then she would watch it from home. She always had a rosary and holy water with her and would make trips to the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan Del Valle.
As much as her faith was important to her so were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She would make sure to have sweets and treats for all her entered her house. Holidays were magical and birthdays were always special in her house.
She also loved to sew and make blankets. When COVID started she would make masks for her family. During the winter she would make blankets as birthday and Christmas gifts.
Momo, we love you so very much and you will forever be missed. May you find rest in God's loving embrace and may perpetual light shine upon you.
