Baldemar Flores age 84 of San Antonio passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019, surrounded by his beloved wife and family.  He married his wife Beatrice in 1956 had a lifetime marriage of 63 years.  Baldemar proudly served in the United States Army and was involved in the community serving the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower Church.  He was also a foster parent for many years and cared for many children.

Balde was a barber for 45 years.  He owned his own barber shop, Flores Barber Shop at 1814 N. Zarzamora.  After closing his barber shop he continued to work helping his wife at the Rosebud Flower Shop for 25 years.  He was well known by a lot of people in the community.  He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, great grandfather, uncle and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Medina; step-dad, Dionicio Medina; father, Cecilio Flores; brother, Fidel Flores; and sister, Hortencia Hernandez.  He is survived by his wife Beatrice Flores; son, Joseph Flores; grandsons, Joseph Flores, Jr. and John Anthony Flores; great grandson, Thomas Flores; sister, Josie Gomez (Fernando); brother, Cecilio Flores; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A very special thank you to Kindred Hospice and an extra special thanks to hospice nurse Veronica for the care given to Mr. Flores.

FUNERAL SERVICES

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, November 12, at 5:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at the Angelus Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, November 13, at 9:00 A.M. at Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower.  Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
