Obituary

Aurora Ramirez Woo, 93, went to the loving arms of our Lord, surrounded by family, in the early morning of Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in McAllen, Texas. Aurora was born to Gabriel, Sr. and Alicia Ramirez on February 26, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas.

Aurora met her husband, Vincent, in San Antonio, Texas. They were high school sweethearts and married on January 20, 1952. They were long-time residents of San Antonio, raising their four children and enjoying 64 years of marriage. Aurora loved all kinds of crafts. Throughout her life, she created and painted beautiful ceramics, learning many ceramic techniques over the years. Aurora won awards and accolades from the City of San Antonio for her ceramic artworks. She enjoyed sewing and created amazing show costumes and Halloween costumes for her children. She loved beading on both clothing and décor, making trees, flowers and gowns. Aurora was an avid collector of Chinese and Japanese dolls and art, and amassed an impressive Barbie collection.  She lived her life in service of others. She was always generous with neighborhood children who lost a parent, looking out for them and making sure they had hot meals.  Above all, Aurora loved her family and the opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vincent Woo Jr., her son Albert Woo, her parents Gabriel, Sr. and Alicia Ramirez, her sister Helen Benavides, brothers Gabriel Ramirez, Jr. and Robert Ramirez, and her son-in-law, Jay Glenn. She is survived by her daughter Diane Glenn, and sons Anthony Woo (Irma), and Vincent Woo III (Susan); grandchildren Stephanie Enslein (Jeremy), Ryan Glenn, Veronica Ballenger, Michael Woo, Jacob Woo (Anita), Nicholas Woo, and Alexander Woo; great grandchildren Sophie Enslein, Owen Enslein, Hunter Ballenger, Jackson Ballenger, Kristoff Woo, Peter Woo, and many nieces and nephews.
