Arnoldo De Hoyos Reyes, 88, entered the kingdom of Heaven on December 14, 2022. Arnoldo was born on May 25, 1934 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.
As a young adult, he immigrated to the United States to provide the best life for his future family. His work in manufacturing demonstrated a strong work ethic and deep resiliency that would serve as a model for his family. Arnoldo was proud to become a United States citizen while serving in the United States Army, and he was stationed in Panama during the Korean War. Although he graduated in Mexico, he achieved his general education diploma at the age of 64. He enjoyed spending time with his devoted wife of 52 years. Arnoldo enjoyed good food, gardening, traveling and crossword puzzles. He will be forever missed and loved by his family. During this difficult time, we are comforted in knowing Arnoldo was ready to rest in the house of the Lord until we see him again.
Arnoldo was preceded in death by his parents Modesto and Guadalupe Reyes; brother, Jesus; sister, Carlota; sister, Modesta; and son Carlos. He is survived by his wife Beatriz Esquivel Reyes, daughter, Armida Reyes Perez and husband Raymond, daughter Martha Reyes Hawkins and husband William; and sisters, Dora Lopez and Oralia Solis. Arnoldo was blessed to have his greatest joy in his grandchildren Samantha, Elias, Giulia, Ivan Joseph, Mirabel and Mariela. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved.
