A favorite vacation spot was Las Vegas, where he would go with his wife and after her passing, continued enjoying Las Vegas with his sister, sister-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

Armando married JoAnn Hice Castilleja in San Antonio, Texas on April 13, 1967.  They were married for 48 years.  Armando was preceded in death by his wife on January 26, 2016.
