Antoinette "Ann" Smith
May 19, 1932 – August 12, 2025
It is with deep love and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Antoinette "Ann" Smith, who peacefully went into the arms of Our Lord on August 12, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 93.
Born on May 19, 1932, in Albany, New York, Ann lived a long and joy-filled life rooted in family, faith, and unconditional love. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth, humor, and unwavering spirit left a lasting imprint on everyone she met.
Ann was the loving mother of four children. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Richard, who passed away after a courageous battle with colon cancer, and is survived by her children Mary, William (Irene), and Elaine. She was a proud grandmother to Christopher, Michael, Jared, Matthew, Patrick, and Sydney, and a joyful great-grandmother to Brenna and Finley, each of whom brought her tremendous pride and delight.
Ann will be remembered for her immense faith and lifelong devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her spirituality was not just personal — it was something she lovingly shared with others. It was a tradition in her home that no one could leave without receiving a blessing, a prayer, and a sprinkle of holy water. She believed deeply in God's presence and offered that presence freely to those around her.
She was also known for her mischievous and playful spirit, her quick wit, and her perfectly timed humor that often caught loved ones off guard. Her joy was infectious and her laughter a gift to all.
A fabulous cook, Ann's kitchen was always warm and welcoming. Her meals were made with love, and her table was a place where family and friends gathered not just to eat, but to connect, share stories, and enjoy the closeness she nurtured.
Ann lived with grace, grit, and a heart full of love. She showed her family how to live with purpose, pray with faith, laugh without restraint, and give without condition.
