Angie spent her youth traveling Texas, Michigan, and Colorado. Her parents were migrant workers and they traveled with other families to work as field laborers gathering cotton or vegetables. She worked at Wood Nursing Home for 23 years as a nurse's aide. Her last and favorite job was working at St. Joseph's Convent at Incarnate Word. She cared for the Daughters' of Charity Order of retired nuns. Every day she worked there she felt she was closer to God.

She was a devoted San Antonio Spurs fan and Dallas Cowboy fan. She loved sports and going to the movies. She took every opportunity to travel, by bus, train or plane to visit family in Alabama.
