A Life Well Lived - Alicia Muniz-Schriedel

Our beloved Mother, Alicia Muniz Schriedel passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and went to be with our Lord on March 19, 2022.  She was 91 years young.  Alice was a devout Catholic and lead a Christ centered life. She lived her life to the fullest with her family close by her side.

Alice was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 17, 1931, to the parents of Leopoldo Muniz and Alicia Acosta-Muniz, and was proudly raised along with her sister, Yolanda Garza, in Rio Grande City.  She graduated from Rio Grande City High School at the age of 17 and then went on to graduate from the University of Texas in Austin in 1953 with a Degree in Education and taught for 26 years.

Alice met and married her sweetheart, Raymond Leo Schriedel in Austin, Texas in 1953 and they were married for 62 years.  After retiring, they opened an antique business for 15 years and made many precious memories with their family and friends and traveled around the United States enjoying their retirement.

Alice was blessed with a large and loving family of six children, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren with wonderful and dedicated daughters-in-law and son-in-law.

Alice was passionate about life, and she loved learning. She and her husband were blessed to have traveled the world with their six children which was one of the grand highlights in her life.  She loved spending time with her family and instilled the love of music in each of her children.  She loved watching her children perform on stage and in their country music band, The River City Kings.  It was a joy for her to watch her grandchildren become accomplished in their lives, and she loved spending time with her great-grandchildren. She was a proud and supportive Mother and Nana and family meant everything to her.

She is now in the arms of Jesus and her legacy will grow and live on in our hearts forever.

Alice was predeceased by her husband Raymond L. Schriedel and sons Raymond L. Schriedel, Jr. and Randal J. Schriedel.  She is survived by her children, Michael G. Schriedel (wife: Rolene), Stephen A. Schriedel, Kimberly A. Schriedel-Davis (husband: Roger Davis), Joleen D. Schriedel and her daughter-in-law Paula J. Schriedel (husband: Randy, son of Alice and Ray Schriedel) and her eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, her sister Yolanda Garza (Husband: Gonzalo Garza-predeceased) and her two nieces Sandra Saks (Husband: Nick McFadin) and Diana Flores (Husband: Russell Flores).
