Alejandro Blaz, Jr. - proud Marine, husband, dad, brother, friend, and beloved papa to his two grandchildren passed away peacefully at the Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans' Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones, on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.
Born in Brownsville, and now at rest at the age of 68, Alejandro joined the Marines at the age of 17. The expression "Once a Marine, Always a Marine" was a motto he carried with him his whole life. He loved the customs and traditions associated with being a Marine and later in life was an avid collector of anything Marine related.
Alejandro knew how to carry on small talk with anyone he encountered. He enjoyed cooking, traveling, watching Western movies, listening to music, keeping up to date with current events and especially loved having weekend breakfasts with family. He was a caring husband and loved family time the most. He cherished spending time with his two grandchildren, both of whom he adored with all of his heart.
Alejandro was preceded in death by his mother, Soledad Pettis, and his brother, George Blaz. He is survived by his wife, Elida Blaz; daughter, Cindy (Jon Ramon) Pulido; daughter, Jennifer (Dustin) Spencer; daughter, Denise (German) Blaz Valenzuela; grandchildren, Nate Pulido and Mila Valenzuela; sister, Janie Blaz; brother, Javier Blaz; and brother, Alfonso Pettis.
